- RealPlayer enables the user to play multimedia (audio/video) files, supports a wide variety of file types, can be integrated to work with a web browser, and can be used to view either local or remote files. RealPlayer uses a method called streaming that enables the file to start to play before the whole file has been downloaded, and continue to play the file as it is downloading. realplay.exe is associated with RealPlayer version 5.x and greater. CAUTION: Various trojan/worm/spyware overwrite or create a file by this name.
